The role works collaboratively within a team to support the design of innovative network and systems, and to develop innovative products aimed at raising the quality of the customer experience and building Telstra’s reputation as a globally innovative Tech company. Job Description The Opportunity This is a Flow to Work opportunity for a Developer to join the UCSS(Unified Comms Self Service) Portals team. The UCSS portal is designed to empower customers to make changes to their own UC services. Additionally, it enables partners and internal UC sales and solution staff to facilitate changes on behalf of their customers. The work involves a blend of DevOps, platform support, incident management, and building new capabilities. You will work with cross domains, planners, incident management, operations, engineering, and technology teams, as well as some Customer interaction associated directly or otherwise. Working alongside the Network DevOps Leads, you will contribute to and implement reusable patterns and frameworks that will accelerate our delivery of value to the wider business and to customers and become a leader yourself at Australia’s leading telecommunications provider. Key Responsibilities As a Dev/Ops Domain Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in software and network engineering, with a focus on Unified Comms products, using agile methodologies. Your key responsibilities include: • Developing the Unified Comms portal features using the best Software Engineering practices. • Assist in the building, integration, support and security fixes associated with the portal • Working closely with the Mission Technical Product Owner (TPO), Product Managers, and senior technical leads to deliver requirements for quarterly Operational Key Results (OKRs). • Collaborating with senior Engineers to address business needs and develop solutions for UC portals. • Contribute to the transitioning of technologies from trials and PoCs into the mainstream networks or for specialized deployments. • Identify and promote best practice in Knowledge Management and Innovation. • Supporting DevOps activities, including providing out-of-hours support through a recall roster or as needed. • Providing regular project updates, both in writing to the TPO, and verbally to the Scrum Master, outlining key achievements, risks, issues, and blockers. • Champion Agile as well as team values and principles. About You Essential • Proficiency in both Frontend and Backend Software Development and practices. • Strong knowledge of NodeJS and Python. • Familiarity with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and ReactJS. • Competence in using DevOps Tools such as Git and Atlassian. • Platform skills, especially with Linux OS. • Experience in DevOps tooling and ways of working o Committing and maintaining code in Git o Peer reviewing and providing feedback/improvements for multi team repositories • Experience using and implementing CICD (continuous integration, delivery, and deployment) • Experience in Ansible and other automation tools/methodologies • Experience in Agile and scrum methodologies • Strong stakeholder management skills Desirable • IT and Cloud application, orchestration and management – (Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices Architecture etc) • Experience supporting applications and platforms 24x7 • Ability to work cooperatively with key vendors. • Unified Comms experience is considered a valuable.
