Network Infrastructure Engineer
Glasgow (Hybrid model - 2 days office (+ 25% travel across Europe sites)
£60,000 - £75,000 + benefits
About the position:

Lorien’s client, a leader in the MedTech sector with sites across the world, has asked us to assist in their search for their new Network Infrastructure Engineer, within a fast-paced, ever-changing IT service environment.

  • Responsible for the smooth operations and oversight of key network/infrastructure offerings.

Snapshot of responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy and maintain systems across various Windows, Linux and Cloud-based platforms.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise across network and infrastructure systems.
  • Complete updates/patches across network and system components.
  • Make sure policies and procedures are compliant with industry requirements.
  • Oversee and manage operational budget, providing recommendations where required.
  • Work closely with vendors, keeping up to speed with contracts, support and services.
  • Perform on call rota, assisting in interventions, setups, deployments, and fixes.
  • 25% travel inside Europe, as per business needs, to EU sites (western/central Europe)

And here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Expert knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP and OSPF), network devices (firewalls, switches and routers) and infra systems (servers, storage, virtualization)
  • Any CISCO certifications would be highly advantageous
  • Background working with CISCO, VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS and IAM
  • Strong history of scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, Java and JavaScript.
  • Familiar on IT security and regulatory policies
  • Proven track record of successfully deploying, fixing and maintaining infrastructure devices.
