Description Job Summary: The competency-based apprenticeship will measure the apprentice’s successful demonstration of acquired skills and knowledge, as verified by the program sponsor. Requirements include apprentices completing an on-the-job training component and completing a related technical instruction component as outlined within the approved Standards of the Apprenticeship. The apprentice will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and adhering to Geographic Solutions standards for proactive enterprise systems, infrastructure, network, security, and application monitoring. As part of the Network Operations Center (NOC) Team, the NOC Apprentice will be required to operate and assist in supporting all the Geographic Solutions monitoring and operations based toolsets including but not limited to, SolarWinds® Orion, Zabbix, PureStorage®, Nimble Storage, VMware VirtualCenter, and other point tools. Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite at GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida daily. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Monitor a cloud-based 24/7/365 uptime web application Assist in maintaining the company’s enterprise monitoring, alerting, reporting, and analysis suite of tools. Create, monitor, and ensure incident tickets are resolved Monitor scheduled jobs, the delivery of files, completion of SSIS packages, and provide escalation as needed Respond to alerts and notify the various internal/external teams to assist in problem resolution Assisting in conference call setups for outages, initiating SWAT call to ensure all technical resources are engaged, and assisting in diagnosing the issue Collecting the information for the Root Cause Analysis documentation for internal and external customers on a timely basis Understand basic troubleshooting methodologies Maintain and follow the company’s MAC processes Maintain detailed documentation on the company’s infrastructure inventory which includes but is not limited to the model numbers, processor specifications, memory, licensing, versions, patches, changes, topology, and physical connectivity drawings Willing to do shift work as required Willing to work weekends as required Work Experience / Knowledge: Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Network Monitoring, firewalls, load-balancers, switching and routing Ability to monitor, report, and troubleshoot switches, routers, and firewalls, as well as DNS, IDS/IPS, and other utility applications Working knowledge of basic IIS application troubleshooting Have strong analytical skills and the ability to present findings and make decisions in a fast-paced, growing environment Ability to work and communicate with internal and external clients/customers Ability to learn and retain information in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate excellent attention to detail Ability to multi-task efficiently Ability to work independently and/or as a part of a team Ability to have a highly flexible schedule Have reliable transportation Ability to work 3rd shift Qualifications / Certifications: Minimum high school graduate; General Education Development (GED) Two-year college degree in IT preferred Special Requirements: Physical requirements of the job may include but are not limited to: Ability to lift 50lbs, sit or stand for long periods of time, stay awake during evening and night shifts Willing to work irregular hours as needed Willing to accept various projects and tasks as needed Apprenticeship begins on April 27th, 2026.
