Description
Location: Bangalore, India Your role An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our Network Operations Center (NOC) function in Bangalore. As NOC Manager, you will ensure stable, secure, and high-performing day-to-day operations for our global network services across WAN, Edge networks (office and industrial), data center connectivity, cloud interconnectivity, and network security services (firewalls, secure connectivity patterns). You will lead a team responsible for monitoring, incident and problem management, operational readiness, and service performance. A key part of the role is driving continuous improvement, strengthening SLAs/OLAs, and managing external vendors/managed service providers to deliver measurable service outcomes. This role requires close alignment with the NOC team based in Montevideo to ensure consistent processes, shared tooling/standards, seamless handovers, and a unified “one NOC” operating model. Key responsibilities Lead NOC operations for global network and security services (WAN, campus/office edge, industrial edge in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, DC connectivity, cloud connectivity, firewalls/security controls). Operate as one global NOC with the Montevideo team: shared SOPs, shift handovers, consistent escalation paths, and unified communications during incidents. Own service performance: define, track, and improve SLAs, OLAs, KPIs, and operational dashboards (availability, MTTA/MTTR, incident volume, repeat incidents, change success rate). Incident management leadership: ensure effective triage, escalation, and coordination during major incidents; lead or co-lead major incident bridges; drive post-incident reviews and corrective actions. Problem management: identify recurring issues, drive root cause analysis, and ensure sustainable remediation in partnership with engineering teams, Montevideo NOC peers, and vendors. Firewall / security operations oversight: ensure effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalation for firewall and secure connectivity services, including policy-impact incidents, NAT/routing-related issues, VPN outages, and high-availability events. Vendor / MSP management: manage performance, governance, escalations, and adherence to SLAs; ensure runbooks, escalation paths, and reporting are complete and current. Operational excellence & continuous improvement: improve monitoring quality, alert hygiene, SOPs, knowledge articles, and handovers; reduce noise and increase actionable detection. Change & operational readiness: ensure operational input to changes, maintenance windows, and go-lives; drive readiness checklists and operational acceptance criteria. Stakeholder management: serve as a key operational interface to internal network domain teams (WAN, Edge, DC, Security) and external partners (cloud/infrastructure/ITSM) for operations topics. People leadership: coach and develop the Bangalore team; build an accountable, customer-focused culture with strong documentation and continuous learning. Who you are 8+ years in network operations / IT operations, including 3+ years in people leadership (NOC/operations team lead or manager). Proven ability to run operations across time zones and build strong working routines with peer teams (including remote/other-site NOCs). Strong operational leadership: calm under pressure, structured communications, and ability to drive cross-team resolution. Required technical experience Solid understanding of LAN operations (switching fundamentals, VLANs, STP basics, port configuration/troubleshooting). Hands-on exposure to Cisco enterprise environments and Aruba Wi‑Fi operations (AP/client troubleshooting, basic RF concepts, controller/cloud-managed operations). Strong operational experience with firewalls and network security, including troubleshooting traffic flows, policy/NAT impacts, routing interactions, and high availability. Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls is strongly preferred (other enterprise firewall platforms acceptable with proven operational depth). Familiarity with secure connectivity topics such as IPsec VPN and segmentation concepts (triage and escalation focus). Strong understanding of operational processes: monitoring/alerting, triage, escalation, runbooks, and shift handover discipline. Familiarity with ITIL-aligned practices: incident, problem, change, and knowledge management. Preferred / nice to have WAN operations experience (SD‑WAN and/or MPLS, internet breakouts, BGP/OSPF basics). Exposure to data center connectivity and/or cloud interconnectivity (e.g., VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect fundamentals). Experience building KPI dashboards and service reporting, and using metrics to drive improvement. Experience managing MSPs and vendor governance in a global environment. Working model Shift-based operations leadership as required to support 24x7 coverage; participation in major incident bridges and escalations outside standard hours when needed. Language Fluent English required.
