Job Summary:
As a Tier 1 Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst, you will be the first line of defense in monitoring and maintaining the network infrastructure and systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and performance of our client’s network by identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues in a timely manner. You will work closely with senior NOC analysts and network engineers to escalate more complex issues and maintain documentation of network operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance and system alerts using network monitoring tools. (i.e. Splunk, SolarWinds, Data Dog, etc.)
  • Respond to network and system issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic network problems, escalating complex issues as needed. * Maintain accurate records of incidents, problems, and changes using ticketing systems. (i.e. ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
  • Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks using detailed policy and procedure documentation.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners to address network issues.
  • Follow established policy and procedures for incident management and escalation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and suggesting solutions. * Assist in the deployment and configuration of network devices.
  • Provide basic support for network-related requests and tasks. Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of network fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools, remote access and ticketing systems. * Strong problem-solving, analytical, detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift-based environment, including nights and weekends. Preferred

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a NOC or service desk environment.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar.
  • Familiarity with network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with server hardware and operating systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation. Additional Information:
  • This position reports to the NOC Team Lead.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant conditions.
  • May require occasional lifting and moving of equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required.
