About the role
As a Network Operations Supervisor, you’ll support the safe delivery of Network Operation activities within your allocated area of the M25 network. Your leadership will ensure planned and reactive operations run smoothly, challenges are resolved, and targets are consistently met.
Leading a team of Incident Support Unit (ISU) Operatives, Emergency Support Teams (ERT) Operatives and Recovery Operatives (Dartford Only) you’ll promote a safety-first culture where everyone is committed to doing their work in the right way. You’ll ensure teams are appropriately briefed, working efficiently, and have the right resources to succeed.
You’ll also support the delivery of various inspection regimes, ensuring high standards of work are maintained across all activities, and you’ll contribute to incident management as the Bronze Command on the network. Your effective leadership and focus on continuous improvement will support the long-term success of the M25 network, ensuring it remains safe, resilient and in top condition.
Based at Denham depot with travel across the M25 network.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage teams on-site, including all ISU/ERT and Recovery operatives.
  • Carry out litter surveys, gate stops and safety tours.
  • Supervise the delivery of all planned and reactive works, ensuring they are completed to a high standard, efficiently, and on time.
  • Update the Maintenance Management System to capture all relevant data of works activities.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver all works activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of RAMS and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver daily work briefings to operatives outlining methodology, hazards, risks, and control measures.
  • Deliver detailed debriefs at the end of each shift to identify issues and incorporate lessons learned into future activities.
  • Support the use of data devices amongst the team to ensure accurate input for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Support routine vehicle checks, maintain accurate driving records, and manage vehicle/plant defect reporting and rectification in line with CPS procedures.
  • Attend incidents in the capacity of Bronze Command.
  • Participate in the Winter Service rota.
  • Stand in for the Depot Manager as required.
  • Support various Asset Teams as required.
  • Manage day-to-day people management tasks, including performance monitoring, absence management, overtime, and annual leave requests.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through ongoing feedback, training, and support.
  • Manage rotas to ensure sufficient staffing to carry out tasks.
  • Manage the performance of the team, including carrying out Performance Development Reviews (PDRs), and implementing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where required.
  • Ensure regular internal and external communication with the team and deliver toolbox talks on a regular basis.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to explore new ideas and solutions to enhance performance.
  • Support the achievement of sustainability objectives, ensuring activities align with environmental best practices and Connect Plus Services’ long-term goals.
