We provide critical network services for the company across every product line. From manufacturing to customer facing, our services span across the entire lifecycle of most Apple hardware. We are responsible to design, implement and support the ongoing need to improve customer safety and privacy by providing security services that are tightly coupled with hardware. The Network Reliability Engineer is a highly technical, hands-on role in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will need to have multidisciplinary expertise in networking, security and DevOps domains and will be responsible for designing, supporting and securing critical networks deployed in global locations. DESCRIPTION The candidate needs to be able to work in a fast paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, handle multiple assignments in parallel, and be self driven to be effective in an environment with little overhead. The candidate also needs to show initiative, be able to take ownership of a problem area, and demonstrate an ability to understand the role of the group's technology in the larger context of the product and network environment. The position has cross-functional aspects and the candidate will need to show excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The existing scope of the work includes the following and will be extended with emerging new technology and new business initiatives. Adopt infrastructure as code to define, build and operate network infrastructure Measure, monitor and automate Software of network infrastructure with engineering approach Automate, troubleshoot and optimize existing LAN/WAN infrastructure in multiple global locations Influence the development of networking standards to meet the business requirements On-call support duty MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Technical BS/MS degree with more than 8 years in Network Engineer Role Technical expertise in designing, deploying and maintaining critical network infrastructure in a SRE/DevOps environment Expert level troubleshooting skills of complex LAN/WAN issues and proficient in packet analysis using tools such as Wireshark Experience with MPLS networks and products including traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, and VRF, such as Ethernet, ATM, VPLS, MPLS, IPSec, VLANS, TCP/IP, PPP, EIGRP, BGP, QoS, Multicast, ACLs, VPNs, VolP, Structured Cabling etc Experience in using network management tools for performance, tuning, troubleshooting and capacity planning. E.g. Cisco DNAC, Netflow, InterMapper, MRTG etc Have good understanding and project experience of wireless network, including RF knowledges, wireless pre-survey, design, post-survey, Cisco / Aruba WiFi configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, monitoring, and good practice of using directional antenna Proficiency in English and Indian languages and comfortable to work in a diversified cultural, language and time zone environment Willing and able to travel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of managing network infrastructure as code (IaC) Experience and understanding of virtual and software-defined network (SDN) In-depth knowledge and hands-on skills in implementing and configuring multi-vendor network security solutions (e.g. firewall, IDS/IPS, Proxy and content filtering.) Hands on experience of implementing network automation techniques In-depth understanding of LAN/WLAN security and able to build security into network design and implementation
