THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Network & Telecommunications Platform (NTP) provides secure, reliable network solutions supporting Airservices’ business and operations. As part of a multi-year program, NTP is modernising the network for the new Civil-Military Air Traffic System (CMATS) by upgrading to an advanced IP network with terrestrial, microwave, and satellite technologies. This network supports Air Traffic Control, Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Services, and administrative functions. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain network security infrastructure, delivering high-quality solutions to complex problems while working closely with teams across Airservices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide expert support and management for secure networks and telecommunications systems, while continuously improving processes to enhance cost-effectiveness and meet user needs.
  • Support system design, planning, and implementation while investigating and resolving faults and user-reported issues in collaboration with business units.
  • Prepare reports and proposals to recommend system improvements for industry best practice and provide technical support to the Network Security Services Lead as needed.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing submissions, specifications, plans, contracts, and documentation for new system components and system upgrades.
  • Make sure existing network systems meet CASA, ICAO, international and national standards, as well as internal technical, safety, and security requirements.
  • Be on call for at least one week per month, where you will answer calls outside of work hours and attend to faults and failures as required.
