THE ROLE:
Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a Network & Security Engineer with strong networking and firewall skills (Fortinet experience preferred) to join our technical team.
This is a client-facing role where you’ll design and deliver network solutions, resolve escalations, and act as a subject matter expert in secure networking. You’ll work closely with our service desk and projects team while also advising clients directly.
We’re looking for someone who wants to develop their career further — this role has a clear progression path into senior-level responsibilities, with funded certification and mentoring to help you get there.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Design & Architecture: Plan, design, and implement robust network solutions for client and internal projects.
Fortinet Expertise: Configure, manage, and optimise Fortinet security appliances including forecasting for growth plans.
Technical Leadership: Act as the senior technical authority, guiding our service technicians and influencing technical decisions across the business.
Troubleshooting & Support: Lead resolution of complex network incidents and escalations.
Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain network security best practices in line with industry standards and client requirements.
Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver the company’s technology roadmap in alignment with business goals.
Vendor Management: Liaise with technology partners and vendors to ensure optimal solutions are in place and are fit for purpose.
Client Engagement: Consult with clients to assess needs, propose solutions, and deliver strategic IT advice.
Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.
Development: Personal completion of industry and partner certification to ensure knowledge remains to date.
ROLE DETAILS
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: up to £50,000 per year (negotiable upon experience)
Location: Ellesmere Port (office-based with client site visits across the UK, occasional overnight stays)
Hours: Flexible between 8am–6pm (core hours 10am–4pm)
