Position Details: The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and managing the network infrastructure for advanced problem resolution and maintenance of LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, and cloud Hybrid networking, availability, optimization, and redundancy in a 24/7 environment. Maintains oversight of IT and vendors regarding the security maintenance of their systems and applications. Provides weekly project status reports, including outstanding issues. Supervisor: Director, Global Information Security Location: Hong Kong or Seoul In Office: Five days a week (Monday – Friday) Primary Responsibilities (But Not Limited To): Manage configuration and maintenance of global enterprise network environment ‪Perform analysis, diagnostics, and resolution of complex network and voice problems for the firm which may include coordination, installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting Design and implement secure network solutions to defend against hackers, cyber-attacks, and other persistent threats Manage the day-to-day operation and troubleshooting of the enterprise data communications networks including the repair of all network based equipment Monitor reliability of networks across multiple platforms and traffic for unusual activity using tools like SIEM and packet analyzers Create and maintain network users/permissions Interface with global telecom and network providers to make configuration changes and troubleshoot network issues Provide primary and secondary support responsibilities for key network and infrastructure applications Manage multiple vendor relationships across different countries and time zones Perform and assess risk of vulnerability scans Leverages advanced investigative skills using best in class data correlation and network/packet/log analysis tools. Perform root cause analysis for network outages or other impacting issues including investigating and responding to security incidents and breaches Conducts research and evaluates new industry hardware and software to stay current on emerging technologies, market trends, future expectations, latest cybersecurity trends, and threats Maintain system documentation and departmental procedures Follow Firm security policies and approval processes when making network changes Document all network changes in department ticketing system Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards Promote awareness of applicable regulatory standards, upstream risks, and industry best practices across the Firm. This position requires regular, predictable, and timely attendance at work to meet department workload demands. Support audits and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA) Perform other duties as assigned Skills/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, Smartsheet or related applications Understanding of MS Azure or similar cloud-based services is a plus CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) certification is required for this position; the certification must be kept current. CCNP is a plus 4+ years experience in a network administration role administering IT network security controls in an organization Experience with Cisco Meraki WIFI ‪Administration and operational experience with enterprise-class routers, firewalls, and switches (Cisco and Palo Alto Required) Working knowledge of security tools such as a SEIM, vulnerability scanners, EDR, etc. Understanding of networking technologies and topologies (i.e. TCP/IP, VOIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSec, RIP, SNMP, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN) and remote access connectivity requirements Experience with Azure and VMware networking Ability to design and maintain high-availability network configurations Advanced understanding of telecommunications (VoIP), routers, switches, session border controllers and network optimization hardware Ability to interface and troubleshoot connectivity and client-related issues Experience with Zoom Phones, Video Conferencing and Session Border Controllers (SBC) is a plus Demonstrated skills in project management, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills required Experience building positive relationships based on trust, predictability, and communication Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to analyze problems and to formulate and design solutions. Experience creating processes and documenting procedures Knowledge of SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001 Experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving Prior experience working within a law firm preferred.
