Description
This is a job that Jill, our AI Recruiter, is recruiting for on behalf of one of our customers. She will pick the best candidates from Jack's network. The next step is to speak to Jack. Network Software Engineer ($250K – $300K + 0.1% – 0.5% Equity) at Blaxel - AI Cloud Infrastructure Company Description: Blaxel - First Round Capital backed AI-native cloud Job Description: Architect and build the high-performance networking foundation for the first AI-native cloud. You will design a next-generation SDN fabric using Rust and Go, spanning ultra-high-performance dataplanes and distributed control-plane services. This role is critical for scaling a platform already processing 1.5M+ daily requests for top AI startups. Why this role is remarkable: Build cloud primitives from scratch rather than just gluing existing services together, directly impacting the performance of the first serverless engine optimized for agentic AI. Join a high-growth startup that recently secured a $7.3M seed round led by First Round Capital, working at the intersection of systems engineering and the AI revolution. Work on a global, bare-metal networking stack that handles multi-million flow tables and sub-millisecond latencies, pushing the boundaries of what traditional clouds can achieve. What you will do: Architect and implement high-performance dataplanes for Blaxel’s VPC using VPP, DPDK, eBPF, XDP, and Rust for extreme throughput. Build and extend distributed control-plane systems in Go and Rust, including IPAM, L2/L3 routing, and global traffic routing services. Design and operate networking workloads on bare-metal clusters with large-scale IPv6-only addressing and deep observability instrumentation. The ideal candidate: Possesses 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, networking, or infrastructure software with a deep understanding of the full networking stack. Demonstrates strong proficiency in Rust, Go, or both, with a passion for memory safety, concurrency, and low-level performance tuning. Has hands-on experience with modern networking technologies like DPDK, eBPF, or XDP and a thorough understanding of IPv6 and BGP/ECMP routing. Who are Jack & Jill? Ok, I'll go first.
