About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences. The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, Experience, Human Resources, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Property Services Group (PSG).
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. About the role
The Network Engineer will provide support and technical leadership for the Global Networks Team.
The Network Engineer will perform a lead role in the management of fault resolution for Network related technologies and where escalation is required seek external vendor support and will lead or be involved in major ITS Project activities. The Network Engineer is an expert advisor to the Global Networks Team and coaches and mentors other Engineers within the team.

About you

  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Network Engineer working on large-scale and technically challenging Network Infrastructure Projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Routing, Switching, Wireless, Application Delivery and Encryption technologies.
  • Extensive experience with TCP/IP concepts, DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting, TACACS+/Radius and Authentication technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco/HP Aruba/Arista LAN/WAN platforms & Citrix Application Delivery Controllers
  • Demonstrated understanding of Large-Scale Aruba AOS8 Wireless Technology and Aruba ClearPass.
  • Proven experience in Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, and MacOS and IoT and Mobile devices
  • Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure Solution Design including (but not limited to) Network, Security and Cloud Based Services.
  • Extensive experience with Monitoring & Configuration Management Tools such as Solarwinds, Wireshark, and equivalent tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working in complex environments and ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize activities.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical, communication, and technical documentation skills.
