SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven Experience with designing, deploying, and managing complex network infrastructures within data centres, with a strong emphasis on BGP eVPN environments
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Capacity and Performance Management
  • Experience designing, administering, and maintaining data centre Network infrastructure with hands-on production administration of HPe Networks and IMC Management platform using HPe IMC Orchestrator and Analyser platform. This also includes upgrading to newer versions and patch management.
  • Experience with HPE Intelligent Management Centre (IMC).
  • Familiarity with data centre environments and operations.
  • Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) is a plus.

You must demonstrate your experience in the following.

  • Centralised deployment of consistent device configurations
  • Maintain and update network documentation.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for network security and performance.
  • Network firmware and hardware updates/upgrade

Qualifications:

  • You need seven plus years experience in this role and have a professional certification such as CCNP, JNCIP, or HPE SD/WAN deployment professional (or similar).
  • UK/EU citizenship or a Stamp 4 visa is an essential requirement
  • Fluency in English is essential

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our client based in Dublin 8 . You will need to have seven plus years experience in this role and have a professional certification such as CCNP, JNCIP, or HPE SD/WAN deployment professional or similar. The client currently has one hundred standalone servers, along with some older Hyper-V workloads, which are gradually being reduced and will eventually be phased out entirely. You will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing stability, health, and upkeep of the HPe network devices , including troubleshooting, monitoring, upgrades, and patching. You must have experience managing HPe Networks , and it would be highly desirable to have some familiarity with the IMC Management platform . Additionally, experience in developing and enhancing the HPe IMC Orchestrator and Analyser platform would be beneficial. This will be Monday to Friday role and will be hybrid and based out of the client office in Dublin 8.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, deploy, and manage complex network infrastructures within data centres, with a strong emphasis on BGP eVPN environments.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain HPE Comware switches and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with other teams to implement solutions that support business goals and network optimisation.
  • Maintain and update network documentation.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for network security and performance.
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution for network systems.
  • Participate in network planning and capacity management.
  • Evaluate and apply any necessary security patches, hotfixes, hardware and firmware updates.
  • Provide technical support for network related problems.
  • Develop and enhance the HPe IMC Orchestrator and Analyser platform
  • Incident analysis and resolution
  • Developing custom reports as required.
