JOB DESCRIPTION

This is more than a support role. We’re looking for someone who wants to get involved in growing the business. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for technology and helping others. We specialise in delivering innovative, cost effective superfast and ultrafast broadband solutions to town centre businesses and rural communities across Hampshire and Dorset. This an excellent opportunity to learn new technology as we expand – we have built and run a Wireless Broadband Network (Juice Broadband), we also run a Tier2 data centre and we’ve got plenty more projects in the pipeline.
Here are the main areas you’d be responsible for:
· Analyse network traffic and ensure capacity exceeds demand, assisting with out of hours incidents
· Assist with order workflow – including preparing equipment for customers
· Manage telecoms provisioning and order tracking, management
· Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
· Complete desktop and site surveys for our Broadband Network
· Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
· Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
· Replace parts as required which may include onsite visits to clients
· Use initiative and logical fault finding to diagnose and repair issues
· Work with ticket and case management system providing 2nd and 3rd line support
· Establish a good working relationship with customers and suppliers
· Test and evaluate new technology
· Manage phone calls and correspondence (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)
· Track stocks of installation equipment and company assets
· Creating documentation, for an internal audience (e.g. documenting network topology) and external audience (e.g. how to guides and step by step equipment connection guides for customers).
· Identify and propose solutions to get resident and business customers connected

  • TCP/IP – IP address management, subnetting, OSI model, IPv4, IPv6
  • Mikrotik RouterOS / SwOS
  • Ubiquiti AirMAX / Edge / Unifi series
  • Virtualisation; VMware ESXi/vSphere
  • Switching and routing technologies; Ethernet / PPPoE / PPPoA / DHCP / L2TP / VLANs / VPN (IPSec / PPTP) / OSPF / BGP / GRE / EoIP Tunnels / IP Tunnels / NAT / DNS
  • Wireless technologies; 802.11
  • Broadband technologies; ADSL, VDSL, FTTP (GPON and leased lines).
  • Mobile broadband technology; 3G, 4G, 5G
  • Documentation and technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio
  • VoIP technologies; SIP, RTP
