Description
Delaware Nation Industries is seeking a Network Systems Administrator to provide operational and sustainment support for information systems supporting the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) and associatedNaval Education and Training Command (NETC) activities. The position supports enterprise IT environments and systems that enable the training of surface warfare personnel to operate, maintain, and tactically employ surface combat systems. The Network Systems Administrator ensures system availability, security, and compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, and NETC cybersecurity, information assurance, and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain Navy and DoD networked systems and infrastructure Support LAN/WAN operations within DoD enterprise environments (e.g., NIPRNet, SIPRNet) Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network services including DNS, DHCP, and directory services Perform system and network troubleshooting, fault isolation, and incident response Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with RMF and DISA STIGs Apply system, network, and operating system hardening techniques Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions following least-privilege principles Monitor system performance, bandwidth utilization, and network traffic Support virtualization platforms and virtual machine environments Perform routine system maintenance including patching, backups, and disk management Support endpoint and network security tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, ACAS/HBSS) Assist with cloud-based systems using DoD-approved cloud environments Support migration and integration of workloads across on-premises and cloud platforms Ensure compliance with DoD and Navy data protection standards (PII, PCI, PHI, classified data as applicable) Document system configurations, procedures, and operational changes Strong knowledge of DoD networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, OSI model) Experience supporting Navy or DoD enterprise IT environments Proficiency with network diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, nslookup) Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and defense-in-depth strategies Experience implementing RMF and maintaining DISA STIG compliance Familiarity with system and network security architecture (firewalls, DMZs, VPNs) Experience administering server and client operating systems Proficiency with command-line tools and system diagnostics Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual machine management Understanding of cloud computing models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Navy programs or platforms (e.g., NMCI, NGEN, CANES, shore-based NOCs) Familiarity with DoD cloud environments and security requirements Knowledge of wireless and transmission technologies used in DoD environments Certifications (Required or Preferred, per Contract) DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, CISSP) Additional vendor certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco) a plus Clearance Requirements Active Secret Clearance Covers 100% of employee benefit premiums, including Medical (PPO or HDHP Option), Vision, Dental Matching 401K Short- and Long-Term Disability Pet Insurance Professional Development/Education Reimbursement Parking and Transit Benefits for NY, NJ, ATL, and DC Metro areas Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
