In this role, you will work with our IT team to manage and maintain our organization's network infrastructure. You will support business goals by combining open-source and vendor-purchased software. You'll make decisions to purchase appropriate hardware, and identify problems with existing systems. You'll have plenty of autonomy to solve problems the way you think is best, but you'll also have a supportive team backing you up and sparring your ideas. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain multi-site network infrastructure — OPNsense/pfSense firewalls (incl. HA/CARP), IPsec VPNs, VLANs and UniFi wireless — for high availability across our global offices Administer Google Workspace across multiple domains (user lifecycle, groups, security, licensing) using GAM and the admin console Manage servers, virtualization (VMware/Proxmox) and storage, and own backup & disaster recovery (Synology NAS, image-level VM backups, offsite/cloud copies) Run monitoring and alerting (e.g. LibreNMS, SNMP, Prometheus/PagerDuty) and respond to incidents; act as an escalation point for the helpdesk team Manage infrastructure as code and automation — Terraform, Puppet, and scripting (Python/Bash) — to make changes repeatable and auditable Make cost-effective hardware/software investments; plan and deliver upgrades, migrations and office build-outs on time Ensure compliance with organizational and industry security requirements (incl. PCI-DSS for escrow.com) — patching, vulnerability remediation, email security (DMARC/DNS), and device lifecycle/sanitisation Maintain asset inventory and documentation; assist the helpdesk with day-to-day support and collaborate with other departments on their technology needs What We're Looking For Technical Skills Demonstrated experience in a sysadmin / IT infrastructure role Comfortable supporting Windows, macOS and Linux Deep networking — VLANs, firewalls, IPsec/VPNs, DNS, routing; OPNsense/pfSense and UniFi experience a strong plus Google Workspace administration experience (GAM a plus); other SaaS/cloud (AWS) welcome Virtualization, storage and backup/DR experience Scripting and IaC exposure (Python/Bash, Terraform, Puppet) — or eagerness to learn Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles; compliance experience (PCI-DSS/ISO) a plus Strong diagnostic and root-cause skills on complex, cross-system issues Soft Skills Exceptional English communication skills — proficient in drafting documentation and articulating difficult technical concepts to diverse audiences Self-directed, well-organized, detail-oriented; able to prioritize across many small tickets and longer projects Strong team collaboration skills across departments and time zones The ability to self-motivate, leading initiatives independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams What we bring to the table: A supportive work environment with meritocratic opportunities for career growth - we promote from within!
