Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Brighton & Hove Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) for a Neurodivergence Community Mental Health Practitioner. Applicants will have an interest in neurodivergence and will support our ATS Service Users who have or are suspected to have neurodivergent needs in addition to a diagnosed mental health disorder. We welcome applications from experienced Mental Health Practitioners with experience and skills in working with ADHD and ASC. You can be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Speech and Language Therapist. This role will involve the completion of assessments, providing short term interventions, providing episodic co-working, consultation, training and expertise. You will also hold a small caseload of individuals that may require a higher level of input and play a key role in linking the team in with the Trust’s Transforming Care Autism Team (TCAT). TCAT are a small assessment and consultation tertiary Multidisciplinary team that supports Sussex Partnership clinicians with admission avoidance and facilitating discharges for autistic people. This will be a great opportunity for the post holder to work alongside this highly specialist innovative team who are passionate about improving the lives of autistic people in mental health services.
You will be working with adults aged 18 and over with a diagnosed functional mental health disorder and neuro-divergent needs. You will be a member of the ATS multi-disciplinary team, providing consultation, advice, support to ATS colleagues in delivering reasonable adjustments to support the person in our care towards their recovery journey. You will also provide specialist assessment and interventions to a reduced caseload of adult service users with identified or suspected neurodivergent and mental health needs.
You will need to be creative and able to manage your own diary. The role includes both lone and joint working. You would have access to regular team and individual supervision.
The Trust provides mental health and learning disability care for all ages across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.
