This post is a rare and exciting opportunity to work somewhere completely different - a prison.
You will support in the identification and support of people with Neurodevelopmental disorders. You will directly provide, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions for people whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted upon by the presence of a neurodevelopmental disorder.
You will advocate for people with neurodevelopmental disorders within the prison and promote best practice
The Post Holder will support the lead in the identification and support of people with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including Autism, Attention deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within your designated prison establishment.
To directly provide, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions for people whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted upon by the presence of a Neurodevelopmental Disorder.
To support the Lead in holding a caseload of people who are identified to have needs associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and require reasonable adjustments to be made to their healthcare.
To advocate for people with neurodevelopmental disorders within the prison/secured system and promote best practice and the safety and wellbeing of patients with Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
To work alongside other neurodevelopmental disorder practitioners, in similar roles, working in other secured services.
To be supported by your clinical lead to improve the outcomes of people with Neurodiversity needs across all the secured services served by CNWL/NHFT
To foster and maintain the high standards of care.
Support the management of complex patient interactions including delivering information that may be unexpected or poorly received. The post holder must be confident in managing patients that may become verbally abusive or challenging
