We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic veterinary surgeons to join our neurology internship programme with a start date no later than January 2026.
You must be dedicated to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care as well as committed to furthering your career through improving your knowledge base and technical skills.
The neurology internship programme is for a 12-month period and will provide training in clinical neurology, neurosurgery, electrodiagnostics, neuroimaging, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and neuropathology. As an intern, you will play an integral role assisting the neurology clinicians in the daily care of patients, consultations, diagnostic procedures and neurosurgeries. We place a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and work with a team of physiotherapists and hydrotherapists. There is also the opportunity for active involvement in some of the world’s most innovative and advanced neurosurgical procedures, some of which are unique to our hospital. The programme includes weekly seminars and journal clubs and offers support and encouragement to prepare and publish scientific research during your internship.
The successful candidate will be a veterinary surgeon and preferably have completed a one-year general/rotating internship or at least two years of general small animal practice. In addition, we will be care-driven, have excellent communication skills, be exceptionally organised, thorough, and be able to operate in a 24/7 team environment.
Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and have existing right to work in the UK or be eligible to obtain the right to work in the UK without a Skilled Worker Visa. We are unfortunately unable to sponsor new Skilled Worker Visas for applicants currently outside of the UK.
Fitzpatrick Referrals is a world-renowned veterinary referral centre based in Surrey, with a proven track record for helping interns achieve residency positions for more than a decade. The facilities include 1.5T MRI, 160 slice CT, electrophysiology, on-site 3D printer and off-site custom implant design services.
We offer a salary of £42,240 for the year and remuneration package including RCVS registration, VDS membership, funded CPD, pension scheme and an employee assistance programme. Off-site shared accommodation is available.
