UPMC Altoona is seeking a BC/BE Neurosurgeon to join our team in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Position Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: competitive base salary plus incentive bonus Comprehensive Physician Benefit package including: Health/Vision/Dental/, Disability, Retirement, Paid Time Off: 20 days; CME 5 days Call Schedule: Practice 1:2; Hospital: 1:4 Hospital Information: UPMC Altoona is a 400-bed, tertiary care hospital serving a 6-county primary service area consisting of 400,000 central PA residents. The hospital is a PA Trauma Systems Foundation accredited level 2 trauma center (~2,000 Patients annually) and a Joint Commission accredited Primary Stroke Center (~1,000 patient annually), both serving An 18-county service area consisting of ~1 million residents. UPMC Altoona provides regional interventional cardiology and Open-Heart surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery. The Hospital is also a UPMC Hillman Cancer Center site and provides Medical, radiation and surgical oncology. Medical Staff: UPMC Altoona has 400+ practicing physicians, Including: primary care physicians (FP and general IM) interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, nephrology, neurology, medical and radiation oncology, orthopedics, pulmonology, physiatry and endocrinology. Also, a 25-physician hospitalist team, a full-service intensivist staff, and a team of interventional radiologists. Recreational Activities: Hiking, biking, paddling, fishing and skiing are popular at Blue Knob Ski & All Seasons Resort, Raystown Lake, state parks, and rail trails. Sports venues include AA Pittsburgh Pirate Affiliate Altoona Curve, Penn State, several golf courses, Indoor ice rink, local YMCA and other fitness facilities. Family fun at local amusement parks, caves, nature centers. Active PA Medical Licensure BE/BC Board Certification
