Our people division is growing, and we are looking for Community Affairs Specialists for our Turquoise Ridge, Phoenix and Cortez mine sites. These positions will support the mine sites and local/regional communities in ensuring Nevada Gold Mines’ social license to operate is maintained. The ideal candidate is responsible for serving as a liaison between Nevada Gold Mines and local communities to facilitate collaborative relationships and communication between all internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: Support Nevada Gold Mines’ social license to operate through community engagement and partnerships. Organize and participate in site and affiliated community activities to ensure positive community relations are maintained. Manage Turquoise Ridge and Phoenix sites Community Investment Committees. Provide information for and facilitate participation in NGM Heritage Fund campaign. Develop education and awareness programs for local communities to ensure accurate and broad knowledge of the mining industry. Support internal/external communication needs at the site level. Serve as site team member for Crisis Management and support site-level response needs. Serve as member of site leadership teams; providing support as directed to site GMs and site teams. Organize and conduct site tours as needed to ensure greater public awareness of mining. Facilitate effective two-way engagement with stakeholders. Engage with internal stakeholders to promote ambassadors within the company. Develop Community Affairs programs and participate in special projects as directed. Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, or a related field, and three (3) years’ experience in community relations, public relations, or marketing OR six (6) years applicable experience required Demonstrated ability to work as a team player required Strong communication skills, verbal and written, required Familiarity with the mining industry as well as environmental regulations or related permitting processes preferred Ability to work in a safe manner and to follow all company and MSHA safety policies required Ability to use and/or learn various computer programs in an effective manner required Ability to work with multiple types of individuals and personalities required Ability to work independently and to handle multiple, competing priorities in an organized manner required Ability to support a matrix-structured organization required The above-listed duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
