KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Existing Business Development Manager or Senior New Business Development executive ready to take the next step.
  • At least five years business development experience in an Insurance B2B services environment, including experience working within professional services.
  • A proven track record of developing new business.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Commercially aware and astute.
  • An initiative-taker, who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing ideas and solutions.
  • Well-developed project and time management skills plus organisational skills.
  • Well-developed persuading and influencing skills, with the ability to manage at a senior level without having direct line responsibility.
  • Confident, assertive, and resilient.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Flexible – the role will be a mix of internal support to Partners and client facing activity so travel across Weightmans offices and to client offices will be required.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

  • Explore lead generation activity, evaluating opportunities and advising on the most profitable opportunities.
  • Manage new business pipeline, working with Partners to ensure pipeline targets are effectively identified, prioritised and converted into revenue.
  • Targeting new clients, including identification, research, prioritisation, and conversion.
  • Support the relevant product teams with segment and sector insights.
  • Identify support required to achieve client plans including training needs.
  • Quarterly review of plans to drive performance.
  • Preparation of client segment, sector or regional business plan
