Job Description Summary As part of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair organization, the New Repair Introduction (NRI) Lead Hot Gas Path (HGP) Repair Engineer is responsible for the engineering ownership of advanced hot gas path turbine rotating or static components for services, focusing on technology and productivity initiatives. This person will work in a hands-on environment in the Repair Development Center (RDC), a dedicated development laboratory with full size industrial equipment including conventional and non-conventional machining, brazing and welding, inspection, thermal spray, robotics, and other technologies. In this role, coordination with the Repair Value Stream teams is required to create standardized HGP repairs for contractual and transactional services fulfilment and growth. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Develop, drive and industrialize new fleet repair technology for the services network Develop and industrialize new HGP repair process technology to be implemented in repair strategy Lead projects to directly impact productivity and fulfillment efforts Work with RDC and service center engineers to perform repair process technology jugular testing in the RDC or in the shop Establish and maintain inspection criteria for advanced gas turbine components Substantiation of service centers repair process qualifications/certifications Interface with Materials and Design engineering and lead design reviews for repair development Drive a culture of one Gas Power team by partnering with adjacent organizations/stakeholders Deliver operational commitments and key process indicator targets Improve quality, delivery, and cost of GE Vernova products within team’s scope Implement lean methodologies including standard work, standard product, and kaizen Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~10%) Desired Characteristics Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university Minimum of 7 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a manufacturing, Services, repair, or design environment Lean training or equivalent quality training Strong mechanical design and analytical background Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and we take our responsibility seriously.
