POSITION SUMMARY

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a New Technology Cell Technician. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the 3D core printer and to prepare charges, melt, pour and recover magnesium and aluminum alloys at the bottom pouring melter. This individual will have experience in a foundry related work environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Sand casting molding experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Experience in a Lean environment
  • Lift and carry up to (50lbs)
  • Ability to work in a high temperature environment
  • Physical dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Willing to work in fast-pace and sometimes noisy environment
  • Able to work in a team setting
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting work instructions
  • Good communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Gain full working knowledge of equipment operation from setup to completion of job
  • Ability to work with core making chemicals
  • Calibrate and prepare test samples
  • Forklift certified
  • Inspection of finished product
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to use small hand tools
  • Work with production control and operations for daily production schedule
  • Maintains clean working areas
  • Observes plant safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ability to perform all job functions related to melting as it pertains to perform melting operations
  • Inputs data into computer all information relating to product specifications
  • Ensure your department supplies are maintained to meet production goals
  • Attend the daily production meeting
  • Participate and support the Quality Clinic
  • Must learn traditional melting department procedures
