Gibbs Truck Centers is seeking a driven and proactive Commercial Truck Sales Consultant to join our Santa Maria sales team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, prospecting new business, and creating opportunities in the field. Our consultants work directly with commercial fleets, contractors, municipalities, and owner-operators to provide the right truck solutions for their business. Success in this role requires discipline, persistence, and a commitment to structured sales activity. Key Responsibilities • Generate new business through proactive outreach including calls, emails, in-person visits, and industry events • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and business owners • Aggressively pursue sales opportunities from initial contact through final resolution • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all customer interactions in CRM • Conduct regular in-person customer visits and develop territory relationships • Prepare and present truck proposals tailored to customer needs • Collaborate with management and internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service • Maintain a structured weekly sales plan including prospecting routes and customer visits Performance Expectations Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to: • Generate consistent outbound sales opportunities through proactive prospecting • Maintain disciplined CRM activity and accurate reporting of sales efforts • Conduct regular in-person customer visits and build long-term relationships • Submit sales proposals and actively manage opportunities through the sales pipeline • Consistently produce new and used truck sales results in a competitive commercial environment Qualifications • Proven sales experience (commercial vehicle, equipment, fleet, or B2B sales preferred) • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in the field • Excellent communication and negotiation skills • Experience using CRM systems to track sales activity • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to meet customers • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are preferred but not required What We Offer • Competitive base salary plus commission • Benefits package • Ongoing product and sales training • Opportunity to grow within a well-established commercial truck dealership network We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
