Description
Job Title: Early Careers in the Arts Intern Working hours: Monday to Friday 10.00am to 6.00pm (additional hours as required) Location: White Cube, New York, 1002 Madison Avenue We are delighted to launch our inaugural internship at White Cube New York. Set within one of the world's most dynamic art market contexts, this pathway offers an immersive introduction to the commercial workings of an international gallery, with a particular focus on the Sales and Secondary Market departments. Over eight months, you will develop a nuanced understanding of how works of art move through both primary and secondary channels, gaining direct experience of the relationships, research and processes that underpin a gallery's commercial activity. Over the course of the internship, you will: * Support the Secondary Market department by conducting in-depth object and market research, compiling exhibition histories and provenance documentation, tracking auction results, and contributing to the preparation of sales presentations and proposals. * Work closely with the Sales team to assist with client research, prepare artwork offer packs and presentation materials, manage sales data, and gain a first-hand understanding of how long-term relationships with collectors are built and maintained. * Develop familiarity with the New York gallery programme and the wider international art market, building knowledge that contextualises the day-to-day work of both departments. You will also gain exposure to art fairs such as TEFAF and have the chance to view the Contemporary Auctions.  We particularly welcome applications from people who have not yet had the opportunity to work in the art world. While a demonstrable interest and some knowledge of contemporary art and the White Cube programme are essential, we do not expect you to have an existing network - this internship has been developed to help you build one. Applications will close on Monday 20th July at 5:30pm and we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in July and August, with the two successful applicants confirmed by the end of August. Both internships will commence in early October 2026. Please note we are currently unable to offer sponsorship, nor guarantee future sponsorship opportunities, for this role.
