The Village takes postnatal care to an entirely new level. Our goal is to improve Maternal Health in the postpartum period by providing personalized concierge style care through our Postnatal Retreat Center. Families can focus on rest, recuperation and easing into parenthood with our trained staff who look after both them and their babies. Meals, therapeutic services, and lactation consultants will be available on premises.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Postnatal Care Specialist (PCS) helps guests to rest and recover by providing supportive, comforting, and compassionate care. PCS receive direction from Managers and Directors and collaborate with the Care Team to meet identified goals of the guest and shift. You regularly communicate with the team related to any progress, concerns, questions, or issues that arise.
As a PCS caring for our guests, you will be essential to the mission of The Village Postnatal Retreat Center. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment for guests and fellow teammates. PCS demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized, and professional. All PCS are expected to remain professional and supportive team players during periods of stress and emergency situations. As a member of The Village direct guest care team, you will be essential and valued by guests and team members alike.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 1+ years Newborn Care Specialist, nursing assistant experience in a clinic, hospital or nursing home setting, or nannying experience required
  • Postpartum and newborn care experience preferred either in hospital setting or private duty
  • Passionate about improving maternal/baby care, support, and education
  • Demonstrates ability to be a collaborative and proactive team member and contributes to a healthy team dynamic
  • Demonstrates ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations
  • Demonstrates ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner. Has an awareness of, responds to, and considers the needs, feelings and capabilities of others
  • Demonstrates ability to be anticipatory to the needs of the client; to take initiative, be self-motivated and a proactive, independent, accountable, dependable performer
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form) clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Copies of diplomas/transcripts and certifications will be required on or before first day of hire
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant with adequate experience, Newborn Care Certification or willing to learn postpartum care preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and renewal required
