An exciting opportunity for a newly qualified HGV driver with limited experience to be supported and receive further training by a well established Haulage company.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Newly qualified Class 2 Driver to participate in our development programme which progresses over 3 months and leads to a full time Class 2 HGV Driver, the below is the proposed pay scale;
Non HGV Trainee - 1 month - £25,500
HGV Trainee - 3 months - £32,960
Class 2 Driver - Permanently - £37,341
Days - Mon to Friday
Overtime shifts Saturday and Sunday available
You must collect and deliver freight to various points within the UK in a timely and safe manner, whilst maintaining a polite and presentable profile to all colleagues and clients.
There will be 4 weeks spent delivering in a van plus HGV days with our Driver Trainer to help familiarise yourself with the routes in preparation of your step up into the 18T HGV. Once you have driven the 18T HGV for 3 months, you will move to your permanent 26T HGV vehicle, with your Driver Trainer supporting and developing you throughout the whole process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Fully aware and compliant with daily vehicle checks
  • Able to carry out occasional handball assignments
  • Timely and accurate completion of customer paperwork
  • Understanding of pallet control (PCVs)
