Description:
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Our Real Estate Finance practice is focused on the financing and refinancing of the sale, purchase and development of real estate assets of all types. We act for a broad range of lenders across all sectors, asset classes and value range.
Real Estate Finance at Fieldfisher is a cross departmental discipline with teams being drawn from our Real Estate and Banking and Finance teams. This role is for a Real Estate lawyer who has had experience in working in a similar set up.
The role that we are seeking to fill will involve handling a dynamic caseload of loans ranging from loans to residential developers where we also manage the standard form documentation process through to providing due diligence and Real Estate CP input into larger deals where the documentation is handled by our banking and finance colleagues.
The Real Estate finance team is split geographically between London and Manchester but operates as one single national team.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Up to 2 years post qualification experience (or commensurate time as paralegal) working as part of a team handling the sort of work outlined above.
- Some exposure to general transactional work, particularly Landlord & Tenant, and a working knowledge of transactional processes.
- Familiarity with Land Registry practices particularly regarding execution of documents using DocuSign.
- Some knowledge of construction procurement methods, Building Safety Act and leasehold reform legislation would also be useful (though not essential).
Responsibilities:
- Handling the real estate aspects of Real Estate Finance transactions on both standard form and bespoke documentation
- Reviewing and reporting on title
- Reviewing and overviewing City of London Law Society Certificates of Title
- Managing the Real Estate aspects of the loan closing process, including conditions precedent, completion undertakings and post-completion
- Dealing with and advising on issues that arise during the lifetime of a loan including lender consents and the redemption process.
