Description Using software provided, collects, assembles and prepares the final design of the daily, weekly publications by determining the color and size of type style for layout and determine illustrations to be included by working as a team and adhering to deadlines. Requirements 1. Prepares final design and layout of daily, weekly newspapers and special publications with exactness and high levels of accuracy using software programs provided, i.e., In-Design, Photoshop, Word and Excel. 2. Build print and online infographics. 3. Build news illustrations, illustrated charts and graphics. 4. Add online design elements and formatting for new stories. 5. Adept at deadline work and creative solutions. 6. Delivers ideas and information through visual communication. 7. Ability to work well with other and interact with effective communication. 8. Maintains courteous communication between departments: legal, editorial, advertising, print 9. Exceeds customer expectations in a courteous and professional manner. A customer is anyone who contributes directly or indirectly to the revenues of the organization. 10. Basic knowledge of office equipment including computers, email, scanners and copiers. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Participates in company safety policies and procedures. 2. Cross train on other jobs for back-up purposes and related duties as assigned by management. 3. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing any customer service related duties to the desired results as needed. 4. If the essential functions of the position require the employee to drive, they must provide and drive vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and necessary amount of auto insurance. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend basic instructions verbally and in writing. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Ability to create effective, pleasing advertising. 3. Ability to deal with pressure of deadline. 4. Good spelling and proofreading skills required. 5. Good computer problem solving skills. 6. Excellent customer service skills required. 7. Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work independently. What we offer!
