WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics preferred
Previous experience in NGL or energy related field is a plus but not required
Previous experience with supporting or being a member of a trading desk for any commodity would be an added advantage
If the person has additional language capabilities, for example is fluent in English and can speak Mandarin and or Japanese and other Asian language, would be an added benefit, too.
Good knowledge of MS applications required (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and ability to use effectively including familiarity with interrogating relevant databases
Knowledgeable in R, Power BI, Python is a plus but not required
Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions. It deals well with ambiguity and minimal direction.
Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail, including relevant language skills as appropriate

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Team: The LPGs/NGLs team is responsible for producing country-level and regional NGL (ethane, propane, butane, and natural gasoline/condensate) supply, demand, and price outlooks. The team operates in a dynamic environment where cross collaboration is crucial and focused on product deliverables and meeting client needs.
The Impact: As a team member, the individual must contribute to the goals of the LPGs/NGLs team and the Oil, Fuels & Chemicals Research & Analytics business. The role will contribute towards delivery of all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual NGL reports and datasets to clients keenly focused on Asia.
This successful applicant will assist and deliver and focus on our near-term and short-term coverage supporting (mainly) the trading persona across the APAC region. It will also be especially important for the successful applicant and team member to drive our research agenda in the APAC region in support of the trading persona and serve clients at an elevated level with a firm understanding of our near-term and short-term content and insights covered for the Asia region and the U.S. specifically.
As noted, the job role and job position are keenly focused on the near-term and short-term analyses, forecasts, and insights.
The role requires either an existing or to-be-learned understanding of the daily price and freight rate LPGs/NGLs assessments supporting our clients keen on Asia, U.S., and global LPGs/NGLs markets and additional details are provided herein.
The near-term and short-term coverage includes (1) monitoring and having a firm understanding of daily pricing and daily freight rates provided by our Market Reporting and Trading Solutions (MRTS) group within S&P Global Commodity Insights division for the LPGs/NGLs markets we cover and (2) supporting and delivering our LPGs/NGLs team’s weekly and monthly analyses, forecasts, and insights gleaned from the same and delivered in the form of reports, webinars, one-on-one engagements (telephone, in-person, online) and meetings with our clients.

The job role will grow and expand the successful applicant’s commercial capabilities (working together with our sales specialists) along with market analyses, forecasts, and insights for the benefit of our existing and future clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keenly positioned to be the go-to person in Singapore for our Asia and U.S. markets coverage and capabilities with a specific focus on the trading persona.
An integral member of Asia and Middle East team, the job role will require to conduct NGL market research and analytics for all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables and keenly focused on the Indian Subcontinent
Research includes staying abreast of upstream, crude oil and refined product market trends, trade flows, pricing, general market dynamics, and individual company analysis
Responsible for NGL supply and demand modeling, build and maintain models for existing products and new services
Assist in developing market presentations by obtaining existing content and creating updated content as required
Maintain data in models and in databases to be used by the team for internal and external deliverables
Collaborate with other cross functional teams on research tasks and gain knowledge about oil, gas, refined products, and petrochemical markets
Conduct midstream assets research in relation to NGL supply, demand, and trade
Support team with client questions and ad-hoc requests of various complexity by providing timely, well thought out, and collaborative market views and insights
