JOB SUMMARY

Audits, balances, and reports on various areas of the hotel to provide accurate and timely financial information on the hotel operation performance for the day. Responsible for the front desk operations during the night.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Previous hotel-related experience desired.
  • Accounting background preferred.
  • Able to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Ability to operate front desk equipment and computers.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Ability to understand principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy, sometime stressful times.
  • Must maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • To provide efficient and courteous service to each guest.
  • To track room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front desk operating statistics.
  • To prepare summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel’s financial performance of the day.
  • To post room charges and room taxes to the guest accounts. Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
  • To verify all account postings and balances.
  • To summarize results of operations and prepares reports for management.
  • To perform security checks of the hotel during the night.
  • To perform duties of the guest services representative.
  • To process wake-up calls, guests’ departures, calculate charges and receive payments, Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms.
  • To attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items
  • To take care of guest complaints by using First Contact Resolution and to communicate them to the General Manager.
  • To maintains customers’ privacy.
  • To attend to guests requests for extra supplies or other items.
  • To provide basic information on facilities.
  • To maintain friendly, cheerful, and courteous manners at all times.
  • To maintain a clean and organized work area.
