JOB OVERVIEW

Note: Night Baker hours 1:30am-11:30am Sunday to Wednesday, Full time (4) 10 hours shifts. Knowledge of Bread Baking, mixing, scoring, proofing, and rolling bread is essential. The location will change when we move to our new baking facility in Oak Bay at the end of October.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in baking and cake decorating, and will thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, particularly in roles involving baking or cake decorating.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
• Experience in customer service is highly valued, as interaction with customers is a key aspect of this role.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation and baking is essential.

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, and other baked goods to meet customer demands.
• Decorate cakes and desserts with creativity and attention to detail.
• Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
• Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Package finished products for sale, ensuring they are presented attractively and securely.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow during busy periods.
