Description

We are looking for a Baker to join our BigWigs night team in creating and baking all our amazing breads from sourdoughs to ciabattas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation & Baking: Mix ingredients, knead and shape doughs for breads, pastries, and other items, and use ovens to bake them to perfection.
  • Quality Control: Monitor baking times and temperatures, ensure products meet quality standards, and maintain the freshness and consistency of all baked goods.
  • Kitchen Management: Organize ingredients, maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen space, and ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working order.
  • Inventory & Stock: Track ingredients, manage stock levels, assist with deliveries, and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Food Safety: Adhere to food safety standards and regulations, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and consumables.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Baking Expertise: A strong background in baking, including specific experience with breads and pastries.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to recipes and ingredients to ensure consistent, high-quality products.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other team members to meet operational demands.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and proper chemical handling (e.g., COSHH).

Hours are: 7pm - 3am
Rate of pay depends on experience and skill level although full training is provided.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.75-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
