EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous baking experience in a retail environment an asset
Hold a recognized journeyperson certificate or equivalent or willing to work toward certification

Responsibilities

To provide information, assistance and outstanding courteous customer service in the bakery department at all times.
To prepare dough for pies, bread and rolls and prepare batters for muffins, cookies, cakes and frostings.
Bake mixed dough’s and batters.
Perform slicing and packaging of breads and buns.
Fry and finish doughnuts in the prescribed manner.
Finish tarts, pies, in the prescribed manner.
Assist in bench work on cookies, cakes, decorating and other dough’s.
Assist in the mixing, scaling and proofing, and oven work as required.
Maintain required records in the work area, including preparation of production sheets as prescribed.
Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Department Manager.
Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties as per Association standards.
Operate equipment necessary to prepare merchandise for sale.
Provide proper maintenance of equipment, clean equipment regularly and notify manager in reference to repairs.
