A SMALL, FAMILY-RUN CARE HOME FOR 20 RESIDENTS ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF YORK, WE LOOK AFTER PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 65 SOME OF WHOM HAVE DEMENTIA RELATED ILLNESSES. WE HAVE A LOYAL AND DEDICATED TEAM AND HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED IN THE VILLAGE FOR MANY YEARS.

We look forward to welcoming two new carers to our night team. Experience required for one senior role, however we have a second role where we are willing to train someone with no experience.
A great attitude, reliability and kindness are important to join our great team along with flexibility and reliability which is essential.
Top of our list is someone who can ensure our residents have a safe and comfortable night’s sleep using a compassionate and patient-centred approach, safe, kind and loving.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 2 Diploma in Care and previous experience for a senior role is essential. However people new to a care role will be offered training during the day to become competent and confident.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and their families.
  • A reliable and compassionate nature.
  • Shifts will be 9.30pm to 8am, 2/3 nights per week on a monthly rota and weekend availability is required. Pay dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents to prepare for bed, including personal hygiene and medication management.
  • To be awake throughout the night and to carry out some housekeeping tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals when required to ensure continuity of care.
