Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals at Highfield during the night shift. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining the safety, comfort, and well-being of those in your care, offering both physical and emotional support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the individual’s health and well-being. Administer medications as prescribed this is the role of a medication giver
  • Mobility Assistance: Help with moving or positioning individuals in bed, transferring to a wheelchair, or walking as necessary.
  • Oversee Safety: Ensure the environment is safe and secure during the night, addressing any potential hazards and assisting with falls prevention. Respond to emergencies as they arise.
  • Comfort & Emotional Support: Provide companionship and reassure clients, particularly those with anxiety or cognitive impairments, helping them feel secure during the night.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided, changes in condition, medication administered, and any incidents that occur.
  • Feeding & Hydration: Assist with meals, snacks, and hydration as required.
  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying living spaces, changing bed linens, and ensuring the environment remains clean and comfortable.
  • Communication: Maintain communication with other healthcare professionals or family members, providing updates on the individual’s condition or care needs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a caregiving or healthcare role is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergencies.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare practices and safety protocols.
  • Level 2 NVQ preffered but not essential

Working Hours:
The position requires working overnight shifts, which may include weekends and public holidays. 8pm/8am
