Asher Nursing Home is a 17 bedded mental health nursing home in the heart of Hove supporting people with enduring mental health conditions and we require Night Care Assistants to support the individuals living within our care home.
We are seeking new, vibrant people to join the team as Night Care Assistants working contracted hours each week (although bank work is available if required) including weekends to assist the people we are supporting in maintaining all aspects of their lives. Ideally you will have an understanding of how mental disorder may affect a person however, this is not essential and lived experience or personal experience is as valuable as on the job experience. Our residents do like to stay up in the evenings, chatting, doing crafts or reading and whilst there will be some quiet hours overnight, the night shift can be busy interacting and supporting our residents.
A caring and emphatic attitude and ability to work with residents who can be challenging at times is essential, ability to manage situations as they arise and be confident in your decisions is essential. We will support you within your role to become the best that you can as we want our residents to be the best they can be too!
NVQ in health and social care 2 or similar qualification is desirable although not essential as full induction training (alongside mandatory training)will be given and opportunities to progress by completing NVQ’s will be offered.
Good rates of pay, 28 days holiday (pro rata) on-going training working for a family run business which has been established in the city for over 20 years.
