Description

Crest House Care seeks a compassionate and dedicated Night Carer to join our team. This role requires an individual who is patient-centric and committed to providing high-quality care to our residents during the night. You will assist residents in their night-time routines, ensuring comfort, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a caring role, such as a healthcare assistant or personal care aid, is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic health and safety and the ability to assess risk to maintain a safe environment for residents.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, and the capability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Flexible in working evening shifts, weekend hours, and on public holidays.
  • An empathetic, caring, and compassionate approach with the resilience to work in an emotionally challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and receive high-quality care throughout the evening.
  • Supporting residents in preparation for bedtime, including help with undressing and washing.
  • Assist residents with their night-time routines and provide reassurance or companionship as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly with a calm and effective approach.
  • Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night, listening carefully for any potential signs of distress or discomfort.
  • Maintain an accurate and updated record of each resident’s care, condition, and any specific issues.
  • Promote the dignity and individuality of residents, treating them with kindness and respect.
  • Fulfill any additional duties as and when required as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the care home.
