KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background in a Food Factory cleaning environment initially as an operative and gained experience from this level up.
The candidate will enjoy challenging, problem-solving roles and be ideally suited to a fast-paced environment.
The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task. They will be able to remain calm under pressure and will be experienced in balancing the needs of the customer together with working under the spotlight of statutory regulators and the quality management environment.
Level 2 Food Safety training will need to be undertaken.
First aid and Fire Warning training will also need to be undertaken.

Responsibilities

ROLE DEFINITION:

Support the Night Hygiene Team and Night Hygiene Management in maintenance of effective hygiene controls onsite and ensuring that food safety and quality management requirements are adhered to and always attained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure that all plant and equipment is cleaned in accordance with planned schedules
To support the Night Hygiene management in ensuring that all staff are fully trained in chemical use and in how to clean the areas that they are tasked to clean.
To visually inspect areas of the site post clean down to ensure cleanliness.
To ensure cleaning is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly regarding health and safety and food safety.
To take any environmental swabs as per rota if required for holiday or sickness cover.
To ensure that all plant and equipment is isolated and to report any faults in a timely manner.
To identify training needs and opportunities for team members.
To monitor performance and operative discipline and when required, involving NH Manager as appropriate.
To demonstrate task skills to operatives and provide skills mentoring to operatives to assist in their role development.
To ensure that where PPE is provided to staff, that this is correctly worn/used, maintained and any defects reported.
This list maybe amended if required by the Night Hygiene Manager.
