NIGHT LEAD NURSE (RGN/RMN) – NURSING HOME

Location: Portsmouth, PO3
Salary: £24.00 per hour (paid breaks)
Hours: Full-Time, 36–48 hours per week
Shift: Nights
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Night Lead Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join our nursing home team. You will be responsible for leading the night shift, ensuring the delivery of safe, person-centred care, and supporting our residents to live with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the night nursing and care team.
  • Administer prescribed medication and complete accurate documentation.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and clinical decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with NMC standards, safeguarding policies, and home procedures.
  • Provide support, reassurance, and clinical expertise to residents overnight.
  • Act as the main point of contact for families and staff during the night.

Requirements

  • Qualified Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience (nursing home experience preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
