Description

The Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor leads and develops a team of maintenance associates to ensure safe, reliable plant operations during overnight hours. This role focuses on driving safety compliance, managing preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating maintenance projects while maintaining regulatory standards.
The position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, leadership experience, and the ability to support production requirements through equipment reliability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. The Night Shift Supervisor will manage work orders, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and ensure seamless communication between shifts to maximize uptime and product quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance associates in a manner that promotes engagement, where individuals are valued and empowered
  • Demonstrate and lead associates in a commitment to safe behavior and to making the plant a safer place to work. Support and drive hazard identification, risk assessments, risk control efforts and maintain compliance on all corporate policies and procedures
  • Perform department leadership duties such as timekeeping, performance reviews, discipline, and training and development activities
  • Coordinate and direct plant maintenance projects, and ensure execution is within the Federal and State fire, safety and environmental regulations and food safety/security procedures
  • Increase equipment reliability through ownership of continuous improvement and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure completion of and tracking of all work orders promptly, with a high priority on safety work orders
  • Communicate with the purchasing group to ensure adequate inventory of MRO spare parts
  • Supply technical knowledge to help troubleshoot problems
  • Work to support production requirements to reduce waste and improve uptime, quality, EFM and safety
  • Own and ensure compliance to 5S in the department
  • Interface with outside contractors and vendors

Minimum Requirements:

  • Maintenance experience in manufacturing or a similar environment
  • Ability to work nights and fill in as needed on day shift
  • Ability to cover open night shifts as needed
  • Proven Leadership (maintenance leadership preferred)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to varying work challenges and priorities
  • Above average knowledge of Industrial Electronics, PLC’s, Heat Controls, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles including preventative maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, and Predictive Maintenance
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software for preventative maintenance, purchase requisitions, work order tracking and inventory management along with Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Plant or Process Engineering Experience
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts.
