Description

The Night Porter position (“NP”) at Hogs Head Golf Club (“HHGC”) is a wonderful opportunity to join one of the top private, resort golf clubs in the world. The (“NP”) position will work closely with the front desk team alongside the Night Manager of the property. Their role is to support the operation of the property whenever required. The Night Porter will report directly to the Night Manager and General Manager of Hogs Head Golf Club. The Night Porter MUST possess the service gene and DNA with sincere and genuine desire to provide the ultimate experience for all HHGC Members and Guests.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PRIMARY EXPECTATIONS

  • Responsible for providing a five-star level of service to all members & guests in the Lodge throughout the evening in the absence of the reception & front of house team.
  • To be at hand for any queries or requests from Lodge guests throughout the night.
  • To ensure guest security at all times and adhere to all fire safety and security precautions to ensure the safety of our staff & guests.
  • Answering telephone calls throughout the shift & communicating messages to the front of house team & concierge departments.
  • Assisting other departments as required.
  • To actively live the brand values and engage others to do same.
  • Being on hand at all times throughout the shift to assist with the checking in and out of guests, luggage delivery, valet parking, guest queries etc.
  • Label all luggage entering the Lodge for each guest and deliver to the correct room.
  • Assisting with shuttle driving to and from the clubhouse, cottages and village area.
  • Work with drivers co-ordinating [MO1] luggage, ensuring that all departing or arrival luggage is accounted for and safely delivered to the guest’s room or transportation.
  • Monitor the security cameras throughout the property, carry out regular night patrols.
  • Responsible for cleaning of certain areas of the Lodge.
  • Assisting other departments as required[RO2]
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and rules to ensure a safe and organised working environment.
  • Assist with room service orders if requested throughout the night.
  • Assist with staff shuttles when required
  • To actively live the brand values and engage others to do same[RO3] .[MO4] [RO5]
  • Assist with late bar requests and charging of items when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is desirable.
  • Must possess excellent guest service skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have fluent English.
  • PSA Licence an advantage.
  • Full driving licence.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Able to work effectively with and present information to other department heads, staff and vendors.
