We are looking for a professional and hands-on Night Porter to join our team at Jesmond Dene House. As the Night Porter you will be responsible for the security of the hotel and guests overnight. This includes maintaining the cleanliness and standards of the hotel public areas during the night hours, setting up the hotel for the next day, and also acting as the point of contact for guests.
Hours: 4 On, 4 Off shift pattern working 22:30-07:00.
Main Responsibilities:
· Maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and service at all times
· Thoroughly cleaning the public areas of the hotel including meeting and events rooms.
· Set up for Events and Private Dining for the following day.
· Tidying and deep cleaning back of house areas to high standards including the bar and the still room. Checking mise en place is ready for the upcoming day’s service.
· Preparing out of kitchen hours room service food and drinks.
· Greet late arrivals in Reception and assist with early check outs.
· Responsible for the security and integrity of property and guests whilst on duty. Adhering to company policy and legislation. Minimum 2 security checks at regular intervals. Ensure fire safety.
· Logging all events during your shift.
Qualities and attributes:
· Organised and meticulous with tasks.
· Embrace a hands-on role. Enjoys cleaning and set up.
· Well-presented, articulate with our guests. Passionate about guest service.
· Previous Night experience ideal.
· Good problem-solving skills, addressing any issues that may arise during the night.
· Comfortable with being a lone worker, taking responsibility, working without supervision.
Please note that this is not a remote position. The job requires on-site presence at our hotel location.
