The Opportunity… We are looking for a Hotel Night Porter, who is presentable with excellent customer service skills. This job will entail Night Porter Duties. Current work pattern is 7 nights on 7 days off.
About you…Our ideal candidate will have had previous experience in a similar position, have a fine eye for detail, be adaptable and a hands on team player with a warm and friendly personality with an ability to anticipate guest needs. You will need to be dedicated, hard working, polite and a customer focused individual who possesses excellent communication skills with strong spoken and written English skills and above all RELIABLE.
It is essential that you have a flexible approach to your daily duties, as these will include guest contact, room service food preparation, telephone use, indoor cleaning and event space turnarounds for the presentation of the hotel, while maintaining a high standard of the 4* establishment we are and represent. Knowledge of computer operation will be essential.

As a Night Porter you will have a wide range of responsibilities such as:

• Provide food and beverage service throughout the night
• Security of the hotel and dealing with any rare emergency situations
• Reception duties – greeting and welcoming late arrival guests, checking them in, carrying their luggage, checking out early departures, taking payments, complaint handling, taking bookings, Night Audit
• Laying of the breakfast buffet and preparing continental breakfasts for early departures
• Operating the switchboard, epos tills, PDQ machine
• Clearing room trays from corridors
• General Cleaning duties
• Clearing and resetting event rooms
• Other tasks required as asked for by the Hotel Manager or Duty Manager
• Observing and adhering to all Health and Safety requirements

The position is full-time on a split week schedule and permanent and is NOT live in.
