Description

We are seeking a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated overnight team at Medivet Leamington Spa 24 Hour.
In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalised patients during night hours. You will be responsible for patient monitoring, treatment administration, and ensuring seamless communication between day and night teams.
Medivet Leamington Spa is a modern 24-hour Veterinary Hospital that offers a safe and secure working environment in the heart of the beautiful town of Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire close to Stratford-upon-Avon and its theatres. Leamington Spa has excellent road links close to the M1, M40, M6 and Birmingham Airport is just a 30 minute drive.
The practice is fully equipped with digital x-ray facilities including dental X-ray, ECG, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy, bronchoscope, multiparameter monitor and well-equipped for laparoscopic and orthopaedic surgeries. Other facilities include 3 consult rooms, 1 dental room, a theatre, imaging room, full in-house lab and separate cat and dog kennel areas as well as isolation kennels and recovery kennels in a large prep room with 2 additional work stations.
This role is a 7 nights on, 14 nights off.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
