OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a passion for supporting seniors in their daily activities. This role involves supervising staff and delegation of duties, completing all necessary documents and ensuring that each resident receives personalised attention tailored to their individual needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a care home or senior care setting is essential.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with residents and colleagues.
  • Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
  • A genuine passion for working with service users and enhancing their quality of life through compassionate care.
  • To attend all mandatory training and any additional training that may enhance the delivery of care.
  • To adhere to and promote legislation and best practice to ensure compliance with company policy and procedure.
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: £12.35-£12.85 per hour
    Expected hours: No less than 30 per week

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Supervise and mentor staff members, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their health status.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals where needed to ensure health and well being of those individuals under their care.
  • Provide a robust handover to the follow on shift and participate in handovers from the previous shift, gathering information and planning future care required.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
  • Dispensing and administering of medications as and when required.
  • Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.
