Night Shift Dock Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY The Dock Supervisor oversees daily dock operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inbound and outbound freight. The role is responsible for leading dock staff, maintaining adherence to company standards, coordination with dispatch, and ensuring that freight flows smoothly through the facility.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Serve as a great example of the Zip Culture by understanding, and consistently following, and maintaining the policies and procedures of Zip Xpress * Must demonstrate being discrete, prompt, and professional * Follow instructions/guidance of upper management regardless of personal opinions or beliefs * Demonstrate the ability to be discrete, prompt and professional * Lead, guide, and direct dock employees * Monitor personnel performance * Supervise an efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation, including dock planning and scheduling * Enforce compliance with company policies, safety rules, and government regulations * Participate in hiring processes * Assist in training new hires * Assist in coding freight bills * Directing yard moves and switcher operation * Overseeing the unloading of trailers * Observe incoming freight, identify re-class, re-weigh, or volume opportunities * Observing and assisting dock workers in the loading of outbound trailers * Assisting with load planning * Adding revenue to delivery tickets * Determining footage on direct deliveries * Determining footage on partner tags * Any other task as requested by management  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must be able to support the Zip Xpress culture with a focus on teamwork and a commitment to service * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * US Citizenship required * Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry and basic paperwork flow * 2+ years of progressive experience in a Transportation & Transportation Dock/Warehousing role or a similar role * 2+ years of experience acting as a supervisor or experience * 2 years of experience operating a hi-lo forklift * Proficiency in Microsoft office PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience utilizing a transportation management system/software * Experience following OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, and HR best practices  COMMUNICATION * Effectively and regularly communicate with the Zip Xpress Leadership, Office Personnel, CDL Operators, and Warehouse Staff  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Lift up to 50lbs occasionally * Stand/walk/sit for up to 12 hours per day  * Bend and Twist occasionally * Reach/work above shoulders occasionally * Fine manipulations frequently  * Gross manipulation frequently * Push/pull occasionally * Seated hi-lo operation PAY RATE & SCHEDULE $65k per year salary Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday starting at 5pm working until each day's workload is finished.
