We are looking for a Night Shift Mechanic (afternoon/2nd shift) at our Chicago location. Requirements Diagnose and repair Class 8 heavy-duty diesel trucks Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on rear loaders, front loaders, roll-off trucks, tractors, and box trucks Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Diagnose and repair equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and wheel loaders Complete overhauls and rebuilds of retired trucks Perform welding and metal fabrication as needed (welding experience is preferred, but not required) Assist with general asset maintenance as necessary Occasionally respond to road calls for on-site repairs Accurately complete and review maintenance paperwork Ensure all work complies with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies Willingness to learn and share knowledge Qualifications: 2-5 years of truck repair experience Experience with Mack, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks Skilled in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and ABS systems Must have own tools (this is a must) A CDL Class B license is a plus High School diploma or equivalent Ability to troubleshoot and analyze component parts and systems on trucks and tractor-trailers Welding experience a plus Comfortable working in all weather conditions and in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs. or more Able to work under moderate supervision and follow through on tasks Strong mechanical aptitude Why Join Us?
