Job Details Level: Management Job Location: Bremerton, WA 98312 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: $55.00 - $60.00 Hourly Job Shift: PM Job Category: Health Care POSITION: The Night Shift Nursing Supervisor functions as the clinical leader during overnight hours and is responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting safe and efficient facility operations during the night shift. This role serves as the primary clinical and operational point of contact during assigned hours. REPORTING: This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON). FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide clinical supervision and leadership to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) during the night shift Ensure continuity of care, appropriate staffing coverage, and adherence to care plans Serve as the on-site clinical authority for resident condition changes, incidents, and emergencies Respond to and assess resident condition changes and initiate appropriate interventions Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and shift-to-shift communication Support staff with clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritization of care Oversee medication administration practices and compliance with physician orders Communicate significant clinical events to on-call leadership, physicians, and administration as required Monitor infection prevention practices and ensure compliance with facility protocols Assist with admissions, re-admissions, and discharges occurring during the night shift Ensure facility readiness for emergencies and adherence to safety protocols Participate in incident reporting and follow-up documentation Provide coaching and guidance to nursing staff to support performance and accountability JOB FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident Maintains confidentiality of resident, staff, and facility information at all times Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions Maintains current knowledge of applicable county, state, and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities Communicates effectively with residents, families, staff, physicians, and external agencies Acts as a role model for professional conduct, teamwork, and resident-centered care Carries out all duties in accordance with the facility’s mission, philosophy, and policies Demonstrates the ability to prioritize responsibilities and respond effectively to urgent situations Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality in accordance with facility expectations Adapts to change and performs additional duties as assigned Able to carry out essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing risk to self or others PHYSICAL CAPACITIES: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices) Ability to move throughout the facility during the shift Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to ensure resident safety Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents as needed (up to 25 pounds) Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to manage the mental and emotional demands of a supervisory role ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Primarily indoor work environment with normal temperature variations Exposure to noise, odors, chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens Work performed in a 24-hour skilled nursing environment serving elderly and cognitively impaired residents This position involves exposure to the stresses inherent in long-term care, including emergency response, resident behavior changes, family interactions, regulatory oversight, and critical decision-making during overnight hours. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Graduate of an accredited nursing program License: Current, active RN license Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions related to medication administration, documentation, and reporting Communication Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to provide calm, decisive leadership in urgent or high-pressure situations
